Welcome to Tumbarumba Paws and Play

My home will be your dog’s home away from home, where they will be safe, loved and a little bit spoilt, just like my own girl.

What I Offer

Hi, I’m Ali 👋

I offer in-home dog sitting where your pup can feel comfortable, safe and part of the family while you are away. My place has a big, secure yard with space to run around, sniff and explore, as well as shady spots under the trees. There’s also a large back deck where the dogs can relax and keep an eye on what is happening.

Inside, the house is set up to be as dog-friendly as possible. It is open plan, and the dogs can choose where they would like to hang out or sleep. There are toys they can help themselves to, and plenty of cosy spots for a rest.

I have my own girl, Holly. She is one year old, very sweet, and loves having friends to play with. Every dog that stays here gets the same love and attention that Holly does (and yes, they may be a little spoilt).

We are an easy walk from the Tumbarumba Off-Leash Dog Area, which is one of our favourite spots to visit. We also enjoy exploring the local on-lead walking tracks.

For peace of mind, I have completed Pet First Aid through Red Cross Australia, and I am able to give medications if your dog needs them.

Your dog will be well looked after here — safe, happy and having a good time.

Testimonials

Our little chihuahua Teeq spent 6 weeks being loved by Ali and Bob at Tumbarumba Paws and Play. We were so grateful for their care and attention and we were able to enjoy our holiday knowing he was still living his best life. We loved the regular updates and pics. With home made treats, farm visits, zoomies and endless cuddles l don't think he even missed us!

Our 12 week old puppy Koby had the best sleepover at Tumbarumba Paws and Play. He was thoroughly spoilt and so well looked after. Can’t recommend this business highly enough for the care given to our dog. Such peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. Will definitely leave him here again. Thank you Ali!

My dogs just adore Ali and love being looked after at Tumba Paws and Play. The enrichment activities and farm walks are so good for them and you know when your fur babies are really excited to see and spend time with a specific person, that it is the right place for them. It is very obvious that Ali loves dogs and my babies love spending time with her. They come home happy and tired! I highly recommend Tumbarumba Paws and Play.

We would like to thank Ali for caring for our ageing and sometimes anxious shepherd (Saxon) for the day whilst visiting the area. Saxon appeared totally at ease the minute we arrived at Paws and Play and we were able to leave without him becoming distressed. Upon returning he was obviously very relaxed in his surroundings as he was stretched out asleep on the front verandah. We would be very happy to have Ali care for Saxon again.

I can’t recommend Tumbarumba Paws and Play highly enough! Their warm, home-style setting means every dog feels like part of the family—cuddles, playtime, bush walks and all the treats you could wish for. You’ll have total peace of mind knowing your fur-baby is safe, happy and loved while you’re away.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am in Tumburumba, in the Snowy Valley region of New South Wales

I welcome dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages — from playful puppies to gentle seniors — as long as they’re friendly, social, and comfortable in a home environment.

To protect your pets, we require all dogs to be completely up to date with their vaccinations before boarding.  For adult dogs this must include distemper, canine hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfuenza and bordatella (C5).

Puppies will need to have received their full course of puppy vaccinations at least two weeks prior to their arrival.

I keep things small and personal — usually no more than 3–4 guest dogs at a time, so everyone gets plenty of attention.

Yes — I require a no-obligation Meet and Greet before any new booking. It’s a chance for both of us to ask questions, get a feel for the fit, and make sure your dog is comfortable in my home environment.

Dogs have access to both inside and a secure backyard. All dogs are allowed to sleep indoors, and I do my best to match their usual routine — whether that’s on a bed or in a crate.

My main focus is overnight boarding, but I do offer occasional day stays for dogs who are settled, social, and happy in a home environment.

While I don’t operate as a doggy day care, dogs enjoy a calm day with company, enrichment, and a walk — just like one of the family.

Please bring enough food for the whole stay (plus a little extra, just in case), any medications, your dog’s bedding, and any favourite toys, treats or comfort items.

Keeping familiar things around helps your dog settle in and feel at home.

Yes — I’m experienced with giving medication orally, topically, and by injection. Just let me know your dog’s needs in advance so we can make a plan that’s safe and stress-free.

Yes — all dogs must be desexed (unless they’re puppies), up to date with their vaccinations, and regularly treated for fleas and worms. This helps keep everyone safe, healthy, and happy during their stay.

If your dog becomes unwell, I’ll contact you straight away and aim to take them to your regular vet. In an emergency, I’ll go to the nearest emergency vet first and keep you updated.

Any vet costs will be at your expense, so please make sure I have your preferred vet details and any relevant instructions before the stay.
